Still waiting for counter tops, back splashes and appliances,  but they won't be for a couple of weeks so I decided to post what I have so far.
The wood is Alder.  7/8" thick doors,  all Blum Hardware.
Painted the Island an off white for corelz.
Rain glass in the 2 end upper cabinets with lighting and glass shelves. Lighting in the corner display shelves as well.

Now on to closing up shop.
I'll post the finished project when everything else is finished.

Thanks.

Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.

It's looking good Bently!

It sounds like you're retiring?
damn fine work and a bang going out my friend. i hope you will enjoy retirement as much as i have so far. i just love not getting up at 4am and not having anything, i have to do ! wife is still asking, whats your plan today !!!!! i look at her and say, there is no plan other than what i feel like doing. and that plan is in place indefinitely 🤣😎

Great work as always. Interested to see the final with the count tops, etc, when it's all finished.

Now on to closing up shop.
Not sure why, but this makes me a little sad, even though I'll say "congrats" on retirement. I hope you are able to continue to use your woodworking talent as an enjoyable hobby now.
Nice work! We had something similar installed. I can't do this work, anymore, though I was certainly helping the contractor's guys get the remainder done, today.

As for retirement, just make sure that there is "Something" unfinished in the shop, so that you don't have to say, "Nothing", because "Something" is going to be heaped on your plate, tout-suite.

Fantastic looking, counter tops or not. 👍👍

Thanks Everybody.
I appreciate the well wishes on retirement.
Right now, Just looking forward, to the Pottz reply, of waking up and not having to do anything.
I have plenty of stuff to keep me busy,  and will probably always do small woodworking stuff for fun.
I also have a lot of friends, that have shops, that I'm sure won't let me sit on my butt for long.

You're not going to sell off everything are you?  I use my stuff for paying job infrequently but I still can't imagine divesting.

Great looking project!
Congrats on living long enough to get some of the money the government is holding for you. I hope you enjoy yourself and stay healthy for many years to come. Also thanks for creating a great website, and can't wait to see your first fun project just for you.

Well, if you ever travel to SW Missouri, you can stop by to see a little hobby shop. I'm sure I can have a project if you get bored. 😉
Bently,
That's looks like a nice final project.  We wish you many years of retirement bliss!

Well at least it's just one part of it that got painted. You still get to see the nice tight joinery on the rest of the doors. Going out with a bang with this one. The commercial world sees another great craftsman ride off into the sunset.
