This is the shelving unit where my recent haul of leftover pier decking came from. My part with the physical creation of it was limited mainly to working with the welder, err, pardon me – ARTEEST – in laying out, assembling and installing the steel framing. But I took this project from just a concept to design and build out. I even made the shop drawing for the arteest, which was above and beyond the scope of services.
Anyway, it came out great and the client is very, very happy with it. The apartment is in the seaport and the lumber came from pier decking from the seaport so there is some history there.
The arteest was a great guy to work with. A real artist. He also built a steel and glass wall for this apartment that sort of looks like a historic storefront. He’s really funny too. A Russian guy that barely speaks English but he gets his jokes across pretty well. LOL

Nice design and completion Brian. If he is an artiste, there were two artiste working including yourself.

Trust me – this dude is a true artist – starving and everything. This was a very simple project that he did for a little extra cash, but he showed me some things he made that were real art. Here’s his website: http://voflidis.tumblr.com
