Well, here it is in all it’s glory. Despite the issues I had with construction, it came out pretty nice. Finish is Danish oil and 4 coats of wipe on gloss poly. My busy is happy with it. We’re talking about making a matching 1×12 cabinet. LOL that is a back burner project for now.

Hey buddy that turned out awesome! You did a great job! So whats on the build list now?

There are some of our creations that have the wow factor and this is one. Great job Brian, congrats.

Thanks! It’s really just simple case work if you think about it. And trust me, I made my share of mistakes. Especially with the finger joints. This was my first finger joint project. I had some gaps that had to be filled and some tear out around the joints. The top became the bottom due to tearout. That’s a shame because the that piece had sapwood that lined up with the sapwood on the sides. Now the boring piece is on the top. Fortunately even the boring piece looks pretty good. This wood is really beautiful.

Next on the project list is my pallet wood project. I have something special in the works for that. :-)

I think I would put a wire mesh of some sort on the open part of the back. To prevent items and hands going in and hitting the tubes. It looks great brian!

Great work Brian! It’s been fun following this project, and watching it come along. You worked through every issue that popped up, and turned out a great finished project. That’s talent right there!

There will be a mesh back but my buddy is going to do that later. Originally we thought about a removable wooden back – something narrow just to protect the tubes – but my buddy thought it may be too close to the tubes and cause them to overheat on one side. So we killed that idea. He has the mesh already. It’s something that came off another amp. Black stamped steel. Looks nice and it should do a fine job.
