VW Beetle convertible

I've been a bit less active here on Craftisian lately, but I've been working on a model I've wanted to make for many years. It's caused me quite a bit of headache, but I'm definitely happy with the final result.

The woods used are ash, oak, merbau, beli, beech, and wenge. The size of the VW Beetle is approximately 35 (L) x 16 (W) x 13 (H) cm.

As usual, Alex (LBD) helped me with the necessary instructions and corrections. (Many thanks, Alex)

Nicely done!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Another great build Dutchy!

If you are up to building a current body design Beetle, maybe Steve R. could step in and sheathe it in metal?
Thanks guys for your comments.

I'll stick with wood😊. But if he does a New Beetle I'll convert it to a small truck!

Prachtig model weer, deze moet in mijn verzameling! Proficiat.
Very nice, Jan.  Now you've just made my choice more complex.  I already have the VW Bus and the TukTuk. . . .but i really like the new addition to your catalogue.    ahhhhhh, decisions, decisions, decisions.
That model is totally awesome. More patience than I have, even if I had good eyes.

Madts.

Tor and Odin are the greatest of gods.

A very cute and meticulously made model.
1971 I traveled from Rome YH to Munich with my best mate and a recently discharged US Army, Vietnam veteran in one of these beetles. He'd been to Stuttgart  to pick up a brand new car off the production line. Fond memories.
Great job Jan.......

Kerry - Working with wood, the smell the feel, is such a joy, its a meditation of sorts.
