I started out making a bow bread knife but it looked like a mid century style wooden horse sculpture.

You can make something out of some valuable furniture in your home you didn’t build by cutting, chopping or sawing it into pieces. Don’t do it while your mother or wife is home. When you’re finished making your new master piece show it to them when they get home. I guarantee they will be surprised. 😳 

Applying pure tung oil.

I was only going to buy the blades but for $7.22 and no freight, this was a bargain.

The bow it came with was used as a template. 

Cutting out the shape at the band saw.

Sanding it at the drum sander.

Filling off the edges. 

One of the most important parts of finishing the bow is you have to put the last screw a little wider than the blade hole to stretch it tight.
