Japanese marking gauges

I made Japanese marking gauges with the blade and hardware that I sourced directly from Japan for this project.

Since these specific blades and hardware are somewhat difficult to obtain in the U.S., I bought extra stock. There is a long story behind it, but in brief, I have now turned them into a kit so people who's interested in can enjoy the project, too.

In my website, I wrote the details about making it.

It was at least a fun project to me!

Nice gages but I have a Crown gage. I like your process videos.

Your attention to detail and ability to design are amazing.
Pottz, Even power tools still require a skilled workforce, and CNC machines need someone to operate and maintain them:)
Thank you, BB! It is not actually my original design, but rather a common style. I just adjusted it to fit my hand and converted the measurements to the closest imperial units, so people do not have to deal with 1/128 fractions to make it.

Nicely done!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Thank you Ryan and Steven!
