Tapestry Hanger

I just made tapestry hangers real quick for a Christmas gift. It was just like half a day project.

It’s basically just a piece of fabric wrapped around a thin piece of wood, slipped into the groove, and tied. It's very simple and I used 2mm Shade cord from Amazaon.

I didn't realize the blue fabric is for spring (Cherry blossom) but oh well...
The red one represent a Japanese proverb, "Fall seven times and stand up eight." Of course, you can’t stand up the eighth time if you haven’t fallen eight times, but it means to keep getting up after falling, no matter how many times you fail.

Anyways, I finally utilized my new grooving plane so I'm happy!

Another fine project.   Like the design of all your projects, new ways, innovative.    Well done.

Ron

very cool design mas. a nice gift.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Thank you, Ron! I’d say it’s more of a classic style, but yeah, the wood is just like the frame, and the important part is the fabric, so I didn't have to worry too much about the details.
Pottz, Thank you! It definitely came out better than I expected!

Great to know a new to me method for hanging tapestry! I like that it doesn't require any "modifications" to the fabric.

Looks like those were always made for such nice rails!
Thank you, Splinter! Yeah, not damaging the fabric is key. But if we’re talking "no mods on the fabric," you can always just nail a tapestry to the wall. That’s a solid option too, haha.

I really like this project. The spring tapestry is fine. Hope springs eternal. It would be nice if we could make roll up window shades like them.

Another thoughtful gift. Nicely done!
James, thank you! This type(the pic below) of mechanism is so simple but it just needs a little weight or it won't roll up nicely and the cord has to be laying on an art piece. If you want to display your nice art piece, you can look for Kakejiku. It'll be an interesting variation for your art style, haha.
