Dice Tubes (3)

We play a card game called Hand and Foot for which I make the card carousels. After Hand and Foot each night we play Farkel ! It is a dice game using 6 dice. I use 6 big green ones and have a tube for mine. I made these 3 tubes for my buddies who play with us regularly.
The are 1 3/4" in diameter and about 6 5/8" long with the plug in the end.. The bore inside is 1 1/4" x 5 1/2" deep. The tube is made from mountain pine and the plug is made from mesquite. The plug is held in with a pin the goes into the tube and locks  with a twist like a bayonet base. They are finished with clear satin enamel!

Nice! I have to admit I'm trying to figure out how you made the locking detail inside the tube...
I like! Would also like to know how you cut the notch for the locking cap.

May you have the day you deserve!

Very nicely done Jim, especially the lid locking pin - neat.
Nice dice case.   Like the locking feature.

Very nice! My in-laws like to play farkel so something like this could be a great gift idea.
Agreed! I’d love for you to post a detail about making the locking detail…

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Nice work.
So, the tube has a small L-shaped offset hole which, when turned locks the pin. Clever design.
Jim,

Good work as always
