Hanger Bar for RV Ladder

I had a request for another one of these hanger bars and I screwed it up yesterday. I saw that I missed the vertical slot that goes over the ladder support. I had a guy in the shop talking "at" me when I laid out the slot and cut it and then found I cut it on the top and not the bottom. I was going the throw it out and start over and then I got the idea for an insert to save all my work. I made a dovetailed piece of the same width and put it over the  slot and scribed the shape into the original board with and razor knife. I cut out the mating dovetails and let the glue dry over night and finished it today with the  slot in the right direction. It worked out okay!
It is finished with Teak Oil

Jim, this is a sign of true craftsmanship, the ability to think outside the box & solve the problem. Now when someone sees this dovetail feature, simply say you felt the need to spruce up the project, rather than just leave it rather drab. Nice one.
Sorry, didn't mean to post twice. This site makes me crazy with not saving a draft. This time, I posted, went up top to read again and my post was gone. Then after posting a second time, there were two.

Looks good!   Not being an RV person what does one hang on a hanger bar?
Just curious.🤔

Oh, c’mon, Jim! Nobody here is going to believe you made a mistake. 😀

Seriously, that’s. Nice fix. I guess people hang clothing on it to dry?
