Petanque boules Box

A few years ago I visited my niece in South Africa.  They had recently moved house and were renovating their garden to include a Petanque court. As I helped then prepare the area for the court I suggested that I might make them a special box to house their boules!  Once returned to Australia I started but soon realised that I should have taken more measurements than I had to make sure the box would be large enough for the 8 boules. A few phots and text messages and I was away.

The box was made in my usual way using veneered marine ply.   I made up a parquetry design for the outer surfaces using some manufactured veneer.  These surfaces are bordered with another manufactured veneer imitating walnut, together with a white black white stringing and cherry edging strips.

The hinges, catches, carry-case handle, and corners where obtained from AliExpress.  The interior is lined with closed cell foam.

As ever, thanks for looking
Looks like you achieved a perfect fit! So nicely done

Love the old fashioned look, perfect case for keeping ones plutonium pits!
Thats a beauty.

I have to look up the game.  Looks like bocci balls.
