UFO?

This bowl measures 3.5” in diameter and 4 inches high. I used my laser to engrave a Lichtenberg type design into the top around the teardrop handle. The lid is teak and is finished with spray on lacquer. The bowl is walnut and is finished with friction polish (shellack, den alcohol and BLO). My new lathe has 24 built-in detents and I made a jig to drill the 12 holes. 

I had a hard time taking pictures. The only one that is pretty close to the real colors is the first picture.
