PYRAMIDS AND DIAMONDS

My latest box that I started last year but needed some shelf time as I was not too happy with it and also very busy with other more important things .
The design addition of the added legs gave it a more balanced and lower look and solved the problem .
The box is made from local maple and American walnut which is getting hard to find and also expensive .
I used two different patterns (pyramid and diamond ) on this box which I think gave a more interesting look .
The hinges are leather and the interior is lined with red velvet cloth sewn to a poster board backing .
The finish is BLO and bees wax polished to a satin finish .
The size is 10 1/2 W x 8 D x 4 1/2 H .
Comments very welcome as they always help .

Just a wonderful example of a box in what will eventually be known as the kiefer style.

The early bird gets the worm but its the second mouse that gets the cheese.
