Small bowl

This is my first ever turned bowl. It’s from a small log of something I thought was walnut when I picked it up from the side of the road after Christmas. I’m not sure what it is but it smells like manure carving into the heartwood. It has some nice colors in it.

I never turned a bowl before but it was fun learning. It’s finished with beeswax/coconut oil mix my wife made for me. Food safe, obviously. It’s a gift for her tomorrow, Valentine’s day. I still have to buy some Valentine’s day candy to fill it with.

Nice turning Brian. I didn’t realize you had a lathe.

-- Jack

I bought it recently for making lures. :-)

Beautiful grain . Really nice job for your first one . Keep the chips flying

-- Wheaties

Next job for that material is a couple of candle holders, according to the boss. ;-)
