This Marquetry landscape was created by myself and my collaborative partner Spider Johnson last Spring for a major Tech company’s corporate offices in the Bay Area. They wanted a Lake Tahoe scene, and only natural veneers (no dye). The visual came from studying photos of the Lake, and then searching for the perfect veneers to describe the scene. I especially loved the gorgeous Paduk, which allowed for a beautiful sunset glow. We used Black Limba in the sky, following the natural lines in the figure to describe the cloud shapes. Boy, some of those tree branches were pretty challenging — See pic for scale! We had great fun making this one.

Just amazing talent as well as patience Cindy. How much time investment went into that beauty?

Than you, Jack and Paul! We collectively spent 425 hours creating it. Labor of love, for sure! Can’t wait for the next piece…

Cindy,

That turned out spectacular! You do really have patience . . . and good eye sight! I almost missed the size and went back and read the title again. That’s huge! What a statement it makes.

Beatiful rendition Cindy. Lake Tahoe was one of my favorite places and I spent a couple of weeks there back in 1950 or thereabouts.
