It started out as the hat ….
and then I saw this pattern: http://www.redheart.com/files/patterns/pdf/WR1629_corr.pdf
and I thought I’d give it a try.
Boy, it sure isn’t as quick to put together as a hat!! But not bad. I did run out of steam, however, and decided to leave it as a vest instead of a jacket. I also didn’t make it as long as the pattern, as I knew it was too big, already.
I think it is going to be too big for my granddaughter. .. too BIG is much better than too small — she will grow into it, at some point. And, if we just move the button over and add a ribbon around the “empire waist”, it might fit her now, in some manner.
Before deciding not to do the sleeves, I was running out of yarn so I went to the store to get some more — picked up the last two skeins that they had (and the free golfball that you get this month when you make a purchase of yarn at Len Mill store woo hoo)… then I didn’t even use the yarn so now I guess I make a … ???
(Hat pattern is the same one I used for all the hats, I think the link is on the “dog hat” creation)
Yarn: Bernat Super Value (I went through 2 skeins 280g(?) but I have some other trial pieces as well)
Hook: 5mm
Time: took me most of today
