Crocheted Bottle Holder

Checking out crochet patterns, looking for something for the 14/14/14 challenge one thing lead to another and the next thing you know I was making a bottle holder!

Stitch Pattern: zigzag >> the zigzag is created with a “hdc – chain 1- hdc” row and then a row of dc clusters worked into the “chain 1” spaces.
Yarn: part of the extra yarn from the supply I had bought for my Tree of Life afghan
Hook: 5mm

My “zigzag” doesn’t zig or zag as much as in the original version but if you hold your head just right and squint your eyes you can see it, I think

The Tie/Handle
In my version, I used the “chainless foundation chain”, using the yarn from the last row of zigzag (cream), and created a long chain.
I then wove it in and out through the row of (green) dc clusters.
Next, pulling it through to the inside, I tied it to the opposite side of the bag from the beginning of the chain, into the row of cream.
I can now pull it tight to create a handle and, of course, open it up to create the opening.
