Pergola Swing/Day Bed Swing

I made the swing out of old deck boards. The pressure treated 6×6′s are cemented 4 feet in the ground. The top two boards are 10 feet long by 3 inches thick by 10 inches high I used large 10,000lb bolts for the weight and look (yes over kill)..lol . I sewed water and bed bug mattress cover on cushions then outdoor material over top. I used our old original queen size foam mattress from our camper. I bought large springs for more comfort but haven’t put them in the chain yet. I have one coat of gel stain and about 5 coats of urethane. I used tools and hand carved the ends and routed the edges.

Wow that’s a beautiful place for an afternoon nap. Nice wood working skills too, the details are fantastic. I bet every kid in the neighbourhood is on it whenever they can. Well done!

Thank you:) still working on the landscaping around it. Kids enjoy it for sure.

That’s a nice one. Solid for sure.
Once you are done with the landscaping, it will standout even more.

Awesome Job! I like every thing about it and the little helper looks like he’s tuckered out from being over worked LoL!

Thanks I’m building one around our fire pit to kind of match this one but it will be a lot more detailed. It will be 20×16 feet. Big project but it will be worth it in the end.

That is beautiful Sheri! Congratulations and thank you for showing it to everyone.
