Carriage Doors

Doors I made for a garage. There are two sets of carriage doors and one man door.
I made the hinges and handles from mild steel. The handles are on the inside.
This garage houses another project I had done… a 1927 Durant van.

There are a few different elevations on the doors. The panels are recessed in the frame. The yellow cedar rails are raised above the door stiles, the yellow cedar bow ties are proud of the rails and stiles also.
The hinges follow the profiles as well as the curves of the centre rails. They wrap around and are through bolted

The handles operate on a simple cam lock so they suck the doors in tight as you turn them.
