A lot of people are leaving the new "updated" site.  I hope to see some of the old originals coming back to here.
Let's help make this a usable site as the original used to be.
Welcome

It's good to be here and to see so many familiar faces. I joined the "legacy" site 15 years ago. It's like coming home.
Some folks over at LJs mentioned this site as a ‘the way it used to be’ option, so I thought I’d check it out. I was a huge fan of LJs until the change…still great folks, but the new format leaves me wanting. Thanks!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

What is the deal on lumbejocks I  Don't like the new site at all.

Hi oldrivers,  seems they wanted to go with a platform they run all their other sites on and thought they could maintain the same feel as it had before.  I believe they really missed the mark.  I'm hoping to get this site moving once again.

I just heard about this, had to check it out.
Looks good to me, kinda familiar. That's a good thing.

Hey, you don't know me, but you don't like me ... Buck Owens

Thank you Bently for the reply. You are so right they missed the mark alright. We will see if they will acknowledge their error and get back on track, I sure hope they do. I visited the site everyday before they changed the platform, but now not really worth the trouble.

New member here. Was on LumberJocks for around five years and am not too sure about the new system. This site was mentioned in a few of their forums and thought I would check it out. I really liked the old LJ site and am hoping this is close to it on function and ease of use. Thanks Mike
Welcome old friends (and new)

For the new friends, Martin Sojka is the founder of LumberJocks.
He took a break from sites, for a while, and, now, has come back, creating Craftisian with the same goals as he had for L J.

It always feels like home, regardless of the name!  Thanks Martin (and thanks Bentlyj for this post) .. oh and thanks to everyone for checking out this community and helping to build it to what we used to have.

This site is a great replacement for Lumberjocks, finding a lot of my Buddies here, two thumbs up.
I may end up catching heat for mentioning this place over there. Haven’t started posting projects here yet either, but I’ve now added it to my morning check-in.

May you have the day you deserve!

I am/was on LJ and came here to check it out .  I was not happy with the new format and really not happy with the answers to what they are working on or the over moderating of some comments.  Even though I am not a Pottz fan, I was not pleased with his ban.

So I will be checking things out here.  The old LJ had favorites and buddies.... Any chance those could've here?
" I believe they really missed the mark."
Thats an understatement, to say the least. Not only did they turn it upside down on it's head, to compound the problem, the admin's shitty attitude and poor communication skills(another understatement) and general unwillingness to even listen to the members suggestions, let alone follow through on them makes the situation far worse than it needs to be.
I understand change and the need to adapt. I deal with it everyday, on the fly. Good communication, understanding and flexibility keeps the masses content and engaged.
Their solutions are generic, robotic responses and deleting negative comments and entire threads to hide any discontent.
The only thing "LJ's" about that place any longer is the sign over the door....and it's hung crooked.

Thanks Tony,  I always have liked how you put things into perspective..

I wll post some old projects and also a lot of blogs about it, which are very hard to find now on LJ. I realy hope that this platform will get more members and I will do my best for it.

I’ve had one foot in LJ and one in here since this one opened. The new regime over there has pretty much convinced me to lift that foot. I’m not as active on forums as I used to be but my future posts will be here.
“Corporate Lumberjocks “ just doesn’t turn my crank. It does make me sad but you close the door and move on.

The early bird gets the worm but its the second mouse that gets the cheese.

I’ve had my first post over there deleted for simply mentioning this place. Wish there was an easier way to migrate my writing away from there, but especially with the blogs, they did such damage in their conversion that I may end up abandoning them. Sigh. But you’re right, Paul. Time to move on.

May you have the day you deserve!

Dave,
As I read through the "community feedback"(lol) thread I realized you weren't the only one. At least a half dozen posts/comments have been deleted from that thread. Anything mentioning Craftisian...gone.
At least 2 members have been banned/suspended for 'rocking the boat' now.
The leadership, for lack of a better term, has become a joke.

“If you don’t make mistakes, you’re not working on hard enough problems.”

Maybe we sneak edit “You can still find me on Craftisian” into our existing blogs and project posts.??

I’ll be happy if I can just get some of the content I wrote there migrated away, Paul.

Thanks, Tony. I noticed there were a bunch of posts missing, but didn’t try to count. I figure the folks who got deleted can speak up for themselves if they want.
