This is part 32 in a 37 part series: Spinnekop

To turn the windmill there is a little winder at the tail of the mill.
In this short blog entry i will be making this.

To bevel the front of the axle of the winder i used the table-saw to cut it accurately

Using my small mill to make the holes
test fitting the spokes
I used hand tools to make the rounded part of the axle

Adding metal braces around the axle. (made of bicycle tire spokes)

Ready for a chain to turn the head of the mill

Without any reference in a photo, it'll look like a full sized original that was built from timbers.
