Summertime is just around the corner and I am really looking forward to hanging out in my yard, sitting in the shade of one of my trees, and puttering – whatever that might entail!

Most woodworkers, I think, have those “puttering around” projects, something to take a break from the big creations they are working on, or some item that has been on the to-do list, waiting for that right moment to be completed.

For some of our woodworkers, I know, summer means that it is time to “put down the tools” and spend the spare time with familiy, with summertime hobbies, or just kicking back and putting their feet up.

What do the next few months hold for you? Getting down to business? Putting the tools away? Or just puttering around? … or is it “life as usual”?

Woodworking is definitely a winter hobby for me; as summertime comes I lose all motivation to be in my shop. With our summers being so short, it’s hard to take the time to be cooped up in the shop. It’s also a good time to give the shop a good cleaning and do some maintenance on the machines.
