A box of many layers.

  • Construction – EZ Mitre Shell box.
  • Dimensions – 96 mm square x 48 mm high. 6 mm thick walls ( 2×3 mm layers). On a 6 mm plinth/inner (third layer).
  • Materials – Steamed Pear, Sycamore and Birch Ply (dyed black).
  • Adhesives – PVA, CA
  • Finish – Sanded to 240 Grit and finished with Spray Satin Acrylic

The outer/top of this box is in two layers, each 3 mm thick. The outer layer is Steamed Pear and the inner, Sycamore. The small pieces the layers are made of are arranged so that they hold together when glued and that you can see through the central, square, holes in the sides. Pic. 3 illustrates this best, where the top is in the foreground (inverted) showing the inner black liner inside the top and the inner/bottom of the box in the background.
