Bevel dish

I had a scrap of white oak and thought I could make a little dish or tray out of it.

This is what I came up. Routed out with a 3/4" bowl and dish bit to 1 & 1/4" deep. Sides bevel cut to 25 degrees.

I was going to make a one time use sled until I remembered I have this.  https://craftisian.com/topics/862-auxilliary-table-saw-fence

White Oak. 5" x 10" x 1 & 3/4".  Rattle can lacquer.

I cut the blank down just enough to get it square all around. I like it because it shows off the grain on all 6 sides.  I took very light cuts and still got some burn.

Great change/wallet/key tray! Does anyone carry any of those any more? I mean, I do, but I don’t know if others still do…

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Great little tray to put on the dresser, yes for change.

The angled sides are perfect for this.  Looks great!
Great looking tray, I like that you made it pretty much spill proof.  Mike
Cool idea for a scrap piece! A good project for those pieces too small to throw away.
Thanks!!

Excellent item Hairy, great job on maximizing the grain!
Could make some fine soap dishes if stabilized or certainly a handy desk item but sanding out that interior makes me cringe. The profiling is a crowning detail for something with 1000 uses.
