Children's Dr. Suess Style Bed

When it came time for my son to move out of his crib to a real bed, I had to build something that fit the theme of the room. I used red oak, MDF and .25" plywood to construct the bed. It was stained and painted to match the walls and the previously built bookcase.

These are some pictures of the room getting painted, you can see my beautiful wife at 7 months pregnant at 46 years old. I was 51 when my youngest son was born. I have 3 biological children, my daughter is 50, my oldest son is 45 and my youngest is 19. What were we thinking?

This is just a few close up pics of the characters in the room

That is so cool for a child's room, a never-ending imagination.

Thanks.
My son is 19 now and he moved into another bedroom long ago. I don't think I will paint over that room before I sell the home. I think it might help to sell when the time comes. Plus it's fun to have a guest stay over in that room, I bet they have no idea where they are when the first open their eyes in the morning.

We seem to have evolved into a species with very thin skin. Ridiculous!
