Redneck or Hillbilly Doorbell
Had seen these in several magazines and stores for sale so decided to make my own. Simple project but was fun to make. Just a simple board with the letter outlines burned in and filled with black paint. This IS a working trap and can be reset, but the springs were heated to take out most of the tension. It will still close but not with enough force to hurt you, but with enough force to scare the living c##p out of you from the shock factor. Definitely good for laughs. Was coated with three heavy coats of exterior urethane varnish. The pan was painted red and then everything was mounted on my shop beside my door. Everybody says it reminds them of " Jeff Foxworthy " and his comedy routines.
