This box is made of hickory, walnut, purpleheart and some unknown spalted wood with a cherry band separating the purpleheart on the top. After I milled the walnut, I saw the knots as eyes and thought it would make an interesting bottom. I was even able to have the bottom of the box wink at you (only one eye) total luck, not planned but very cool.

Thanks Barb, I used Spar Varnish, I wanted the colors to last as long as possible and that has UV inhibitors.
