Olive Shoehorn

This is a long shoehorn I made from a kit from Pennstate. It is 33 1/2" long and made from olive wood. It is finished with Danish Oil and clear satin lacquer.

Nicely done Jim, the finish looks great on the turning.

Nice! Someone keeps moving the floor farther away every year, so this sort of thing becomes more necessary. And I’ve got one of those Penn Stare shoehorn kits somewhere around here…

May you have the day you deserve!

Agree with Dave on the floor being farther away and the old back does not bend like it use to.
So, nice looking solution.    Finish is great.   well done.

Nice handy gadget to have around.  Mine is made from nylon, hangs on the closet rod.  I like yours way better

Excellent Jim, anything is better than having to sit down, put on the shoes, and then figure out how to stand back up.

Also can double as a medication dose spoon for the pet alligators 🙂
I use a plastic one. They break about once a year or so. That beauty looks like it's made to last.

nice one jim.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Looks good.
I have made several and keep then in various convenient places, like outside the kitchen door where my yard shoes are and in my camper.
Thank you all for the nice comments. The instructions in the kit tell you to use an 8" piece of wood to make them...but they you would have to bend down!!

cheers, Jim
