Small Oak Box or Capsule

Another small box made of oak. This time I used my dremel to carve a band around the top. Then using India ink I stained the dimples black. The body has 3 burn lines, 2 thin and one thick around the body. My mark was lasered into some Padauk and then I painted the rim with ink. The finish is satin lacquer and then waxed. I was able to get a good fit, so when close the top it makes a nice click, but it's still easy to open.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

The added paint touches and dimpling are neat!
I like everything about it. The dimpling around the top, ring cut w/dremel, Indian ink stain and your mark 👀 looks just like you.
