Egg and Egg Cup

I make a lot of egg cups to sell at shows and needed an egg to show people what they are for. So I turned another egg cup and made a matching egg from the rest of the mesquite log. I have gages for the egg cups and so I made one for the egg. After measuring 100 eggs I got an average size for a grade A large egg of 1.712 wide x 2.226 long. They are finished with EEE and Shellawax plus a little trivia today n the size of eggs!!!…... Cheers, Jim.

More than I ever wanted to know about eggs! But thank you!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

So Jim, where is the smiley🙂 after the "measuring 100 eggs"????

That would be ridiculous, but then again you are a perfectionist so we really can't tell! 😀

BTW, very nice cup!
Six Segma first part quality for sure!  No idea how that egg is turned but I think it's really cool.

Well, that’s some egg!

May you have the day you deserve!

Good idea Jim, but it is funny that there are people that don't know what that is, and what it is used for.

Cool Jim, I have heard of the egg cup, but never really thought about it. The egg itself must have been an interesting turning. Oh, the grain is pretty in both.

Turning the egg must have been complicated, nice work, well done.
Thank you all for the nice comments! I turned the egg using an accurately cut  thin plywood template. I just cut away the wood that did not fit in the template but no more!
Hi Tim. six sigma quality!!...were you in quality assurance too??
I use my egg cups for soft boiled eggs about once a month. I have some cool ones made from black corian and rosewood.

Great Egg Cups Jim......As a Child growing up.  A soft boiled egg in an egg cup was very popular, particularly accompanied by "Soldiers" (Toast cut into fingers for dipping)

The Cups look very nice and great idea to have the wooden egg to show how it is done.

Regards......Cliff.
Must go with sign ; ''Not eatable''....hehehe

Thanks Cliff and Ivan  !!
