Wanted for Christmas 2 Screwdrivers

As I said in Wanted for Christmas 1, the phone was ringing. Here is the 2nd and actually 3rd order. I had someone remember my screwdrivers from my summer craft sale and wanted some for gifts. Actually ten of them. This would not be a problem other then time and weather. I have to take my lathe outside to turn and the weather had got cold. To get the ten, I turned twelve blanks just in case a mishap should occur. It did, during assembly I had three crack on me. Plus I got another request from someone who wanted three for gifts. Back out in the cold, I think it was about 35 degrees when I turned six more blanks. I finished up with just enough as I cracked two more during assembly.

These are made by recycling Harbor freight screwdrivers and for wood I combed the shop and came up with some mahogany, some walnut,  spalted maple and a piece of heart pine. I have to say I was happy the way these came out but I really froze making these.

I was not even done when "Wanted for Christmas 3" came in.

Nice Jeff!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Thanks guys. The hard part was the weather.
It's been chilly for sure Jeff!  More so down your way than here as usual...  I was coming home from Charlotte last night and from the time I hit Fancy Gap until I got to Fort Chiswell it was blowing snow pretty thick and blowing my car.  All clear by the time I got down Christiansburg mountain though.
Ken, it's really nasty here today. Lots of snow and temps in the low 20's. I think it's always bad on Fancy Gap. Glad you made it home OK. We came through there about a week ago from Duke. Anita is now officially 5 years clear. Major milestone.
Yay!  Tell her I said hi and congratulations 😃

Drivers are works of art! Copper is always a nice touch and good call on the HF "guts".

maybe you need to build a treehouse like Kenny has for your lathe room LMAO 🤣🤣🤣

You should have seen the look on the check out girls face when I put 13 of them on the counter.

Way to keep busy, Jeff! Nice drivers, too!

May you have the day you deserve!

Nice looking drivers, you've been busy this Christmas from the look of it :)
really nice....it gives a simple tool some serious class!
Thanks guys. I was glad I was able to get them done. 13 screwdrivers turned outside in the cold.
Jeff you can come use my lathe any time to make screwdrivers.  It's currently buried under miscellaneous shop stuff, but it is indoors.  Heck,  I'll even supply the screw driver ends and handle blanks. I even have some chisel ends if you want a little change of pace.  I don't have much of a heater yet, but I'm pretty sure the dust collector will warm things up so you can feel your fingers and toes.
Earl-How could I refuse a deal like that! I wish I could turn in the shop, just the mess is too much for my small shop. I get the blanks turned outside then do the drilling, assembly and finishing in the shop. Those steps are not too messy. I do appreciate the offer.
