Ulu Knife and Cutting Board

This is a Damascus steel Ulu knife  and a matching cutting board and holder. I purchased the blade and made the handle for it. It is made from mesquite and the cutting board is made from mesquite and pecan wood. The cutting board is 6 1/2" wide and 7" long

It is finished with cutting board oil and buffed and waxed

I'll bite JJ... where do you fing Ulu's that need cutting... or is it a rabbi's emergency?

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

I like the pecan and mesquite combination.  This gives me an idea for a cutting board for the Ulu knife Duckmilk made for me in one of the swaps.
Interesting and novel.    Very good looking.

Real nice Jim - does the cutting board follow the curve of the blade, or is it a bit less of a curve so you can rock the Ulu like a mezzaluna?
Looks great!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Thank you all for the nice comments.

Hi Ducky...we have Ulu's here in Arizona that need cutting. I may get orders for a lot more!!

Hi Mike B........The radius of the board is the same as the blade

Nice work Jim!

Perhaps a future version with the blade and board curve adjusted for summer sausage? 🤠

Hi Ducky...we have Ulu's here in Arizona...
Are they similar to that other tribe that when they get lost, climb up in three and scream, "Where the ULU are we?"

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Thanks, Tom and Bruce.

Hi Ducky. These Ulu's  hide in the prairie dog holes and only come out on Sundays and holidays!!
Say we have a mobile home in Arizona named after you.....it is a Mallard!
