Benchtop Socket Caddy

This caddy was made to keep all my 1/4" and 3/8" sockets handy instead of having to dig through a tool box to find the right one. It makes for a better "visual" shop. It is made from maple plywood and has a 3" Lazy Susan bearing on the bottom so it can swivel. It is 14 1/2" high and has a 6 1/2" base All the pegs are put it at a 7 degree angle to eliminate falling when swiveling. It is finished with Boiled Linseed Oil.
I use it all the time in the barn and rarely go to my tool box of sockets any more

Nice organizational project, well done.
But - you've eliminated all the fun of searching for the right socket! (nice project😁)
Great idea Jim. You eliminated a lot of wasted time going through 20 sockets to get the right one
HF just put out some Socket trays to organize loose sockets, and I was thinking about them to try to get my Sockets organized. Seeing this I see me getting them in one spot, and organized way better than what I had in mind.

Thanks for posting this splendid idea Jim

Nice caddy! Doesn’t tale up much space either. Well done.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

I have them all in a drawer but like this Idea and execution.

Good looking holder, I would still be able to find a way to knock it over and scatter them everywhere.
Thank you all for the nice comments. I really enjoy have this right on the bench that I do most of my work in the barn.
I take my tool box if I have work at some other site.
cheers, Jim

If I didn't already have socket organizers, this would be great.  My concern if I did something like this is one of the kids would see how fast they could spin it to watch all the sockets fly off into all the inaccessible areas of my garage.
That's pretty handy. If only I could find room on my workbench.

thanks bigblockyeti and Ctl.
They will fly off is you spin it. Done that already!! maybe a ring magnet at the base of each one would prevent that.
