Small Chest of Drawers

I made this chest for keeping household goods that would allow it to be a decorative storage box that could sit atop a bureau or dining room buffet.  It's made in Canary Wood, Birdseye and Hard Maple, with the back and bottoms of the drawers using 1/4" Baltic Birch Plywood.  The base of the chest itself is made from Birdseye Maple similar to the top, and the pedestals are made of Canary Wood.  The drawer boxes were made from Hard Maple (sides), Birdseye Maple (fronts and backs) using hand-cut through-dovetail joinery.   I glued the faces for the drawers (Canary Wood with Hard Maple pull strips) onto the boxes.  (Normally, one would use half-blind dovetails to join the sides of drawers to their faces, however, that would have required thicker pieces of Canary Wood for the faces than I had available to me at the time.)  Each drawer has removable dividers and a tray (both in Maple).
