Beautiful Petey!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Great Petey!  What did you end up using for the hygrometer?

A real eye catcher Petey!
The DT splines are a treat as well as the wood selections. Hope it brings in the $$$ for the kids!
Nice job it's definitely eye candy.

Splint,

I think I had a few of the brand you mentioned.   Kind of old school looking dial.  I will include it but not install it, because I thought someone might want what the want and change it out.

Mr Rick

Those are dovetail splines.  I used a jig from Infinity tools. Called their dovetail spline sled.  You can make your own.  I made one after buying this one for a BIL.
I can explain if you like how to make one.

Killer box Petey. That Walnut burl is catchy, and the top looks like perfection mitered wise. Please do explain the spline jig, those are pretty slick too. Also hoping 2 someone's falls in love with it, and wage a dollar war over it's ownership. Good on you for supporting the kids.
Absolutely great and gorgeous.
Nice work Petey.
petey we need to see the inside also ?

Great job Petey...  Love those pseudo dovetails... top turned out beaut.

Shame you haven't documented some of the issues/achievements you had, for the benefit of viewers that don't lurk on the patio.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Yes - certainly looks good. Interesting splines.  I do mine on a router with a sled fixed at 45.  But I've been experimenting with an adjustable angled sled so you get splines of different lengths on adjacent surfaces.
Very nice, I hope all goes well with the children's auction
