Bullet display case.

Boys and Girls,

I undertook this bullet presentation case for a close friend back in 2016 before I discovered LJ (or any other woodworking forums)… so no pictures other than the single gallery one… and it’s hard to bullshit about nothing… even for me.

No idea what timber I used other than it wasn’t MDF… in fact there is not a trace of MDF, other than maybe MDF airborne particles trapped inside the glass case.

While I’m slipping this in to separate consecutive puzzles, rest easy on this short and simple post as I’m sure I’ll make up for it in my next one.

  • Threw in these bullet points to supplement the subject.
  •  Looks like I can BS, just a little, about nothing.

Ducky using proper timber?!? Must be old!!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

He probably started his WW experience shopping at the boutique lumber yards before discovering the Harbor Freight versions with their big discounts on "wood" 🤠

I do see a back trend since he seems to embrace the boutique tools!

Actually though, tis a well built and nice looking shadow box so a big 👍 Duck!
I remember my grandpa having something similar for Winchester rounds in the 70’s. It had a thick resin-impregnated rope running along the edge as a frame if I remember correctly. I thought it was pretty cool.

Holy bovines [on another thread, the BBQ one]!  Youse guys know what bullets are?

More seriously, Ducky, that came out really nice. Must have been a challenge acquiring the many different bullets.

We did a lot of ghost town hunting and metal detecting, when I was a kid. Wish I still had the casings we found. Things like the brass shotgun shells with the side firing pin.

It's a shame things like the equipment you use them with cannot be displayed anymore, for fear of some dirt bag breaking in, in our absence, and wandering off with them.

The same reason I can display the one pound silver round a late friend bought me for Christmas.
I've seen those boards in dealer stores. I think it is something that the company gives to the distributors.

Always remember seeing the solid copper bullets used for safaris. Really wanted to pick at the display to see what fell off.
Good job Duckster!

Mike

Thanks guys... The bullets were already glued/mounted on a "cardboarsd_ish" back and a block of timber, however, my buddy wanted it out of the elements.

Those that think that the solids were a minor miracle... while I can only swim on water, just wait for the next revelation.

Then I discovered Fe$tool... no longer able to afford real non-MDF wood... after all, real wood doesn't just grow in the ground.

so lets get this straight, you have so much money tied up in tools you now cant afford real wood ? 🙄

well i heard their gonna cut back on less beneficial projects like yours and devote the money to more beneficial ones ! apparently puzzles arn't on their priority list anymore. but ive read that bowls seem to be climbing in importance ducks !  seems they could be used on space missions for storing and holding things ! so maybe ill be funded soon ? 🤔😁

The trip to Mars may take a while, and they'll need the puzzles to keep their minds of the full bowls on the floor after their dunnies start to overfill.

Then I won't go down the line of what floats in many Yankee heads.

I apologise to my Yankee friends... that (above) didn't come out the way it was meant... too late to amend/delete.
