Fishing reel

Made out mahogany, ebony and brass. The interworkings are from a zebco 404.
Spent a couple of weeks figuring all out during  the pandemic days.  Made all the brass parts as well. Just something I wanted to try.

Oh my gosh  -  what a project to attempt and complete to such perfection.  KUDOS ten times over
Too good looking to get lake or stream muddy water on it.   Really outstanding workmanship!

I don't fish, but admire the level of workmanship that this shows.  Great outcome!
Very cool! Nicely done.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

that would be the perfect gift for a woodworker that loves to fish ?

My first thought.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Now you need to make a bamboo rod to go with it.  Of course you have to try it out.  BTW - that's awesome!!!
It looks fantastic! Luxury fishing, I bet the fish will be impressed when you catch them, they might want to eat some caviar with you. lol It's great to hear form you buddy.
