Frame for Another Diamond Dot Picture

My wife wanted another rustic looking frame for this last diamond dot picture she did and I don't have any  Arizona boards with natural edge here in Michigan. So I used some pecan wood from Arizona, but it did not have a natural edge. She approved so here it is. It is 3/4" x 15" x 19 1/2" with a 3/8" x 3/8" rabbet cut on the inside for the picture and walnut splines in the corners. The picture is held in by 6- 7/8" copper washers that I punched out of the 1/16" stock.
It is finished with Danish oil and  Matte spray enamel.

I like the blue color of the matting with that artwork. The frame offers a nice offset to the colors.  You Sir, are hardcore when it comes to maker description. Popping out your own stays for the back of the art. I have to admit to being a wimp who uses store bought. I feel like a total failure. :-)
Nice work Jim, looks pretty good, and sturdy with the corner splines.
Another great team project. The frame works so nicely with the artwork!
Thank you all for the nice comments............Cheers, Jim

Love the picture... love the frame! Beautiful. Happy wife... happy life!!
Nice.
I’m another who buys the back frame hardware.
Punching out your own washers—that’s the extra mile.
Thanks Rick and Gary.

Hi Gary. I have a ton of washers but I could not find any 7/8" washers with a 3/16" hole in them.........so I made them!
I made that hole puncher for punching our shims when I was a tool maker. Now that we are on Craftisian, I guess I could post IT as a project for metalworking!! That has been very handy over the years now that I am out of the tool room. It was invaluable making gaskets for engine work in the barn!!

Great combination of picture and frame.
Jim,

Nice job on the frame.  I agree with George, the blue accents the picture well.
