Blue Piggy Bank

This piggy bank is blue because it is for our new great grand son, Miles. It was hollowed out on the lathe and plugged and that is where I turned the nose.  I made it from box elder and it is finished with blue gloss enamel. The eyes are mesquite and the tail is 1/8" plastic rod that they used to mark utility lines with.

Neat gift!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

That looks like it’s made of ceramic. It came out great and nice paint job. How did you apply the paint?

No poop hole...

how do you pass a load in times of emergencies?

Though if it had that hole, you could be accused of blue movies!

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Those are realistic pigs Rob. List them as a project.

Ducky you are so naughty but funny. What do you have to say for yourself? Never mind. 🫤

Very nice work Jim, this is a great bank & I'm sure you new family addition will love it as he gets older. It's really going to teach him the meaning of saving as there's no way to get the money out.
Also, I admire your ability to hollow out the ban, through that nose hole. Great lathe work.
The Piggy Bank looks great.

Thanks you for the nice comments

Hi James. The finish is blue  spray gloss enamel. I went over again with clear gloss spray after adding the eyes and the tail!!.
Hi Tom, there is a plug in the bottom held in by two screws, It has his name and birth date on it.
Hi Petey, the pig body is 5" in diameter and 7 3/4" from nose to back end! he is bored pretty thin wall so there was not a lot to screw the plug into but it worked out okay! He'll hold a lot of money!!

Nice pics, Rob..Very realistic !!
