Tuning Fork Storage Tube

I recently bought a 128Hz. Medical Tuning Fork to try to ease the arthritis in my hands. It does help by sending the vibrations into my fingers- especially both index fingers. So I have been thinking about a storage box for it and came up with about 4 designs. I made this one today. It holds the tuning fork and the little hammer I made to "tunk" it with. The tube is 1 3/4" x 2 1/4"  x 8 1/2"  and made from Beech wood. It beat out the other designs for simplicity and I did not have to buy any hinges. The top swivels open on a brass pin and locks with 2  10mm rare earth magnets. It is finished with clear satin enamel!

Nice design Jim. Never heard of this before. Interesting way to relieve arthritis
I 2nd what Corelz said.   Have not heard of that for help with arthritis.

live to tell the stories, they sound better that way

Nice storage solution.

You'll have to update us on the effectiveness of this for arthritis

Cool box! What frequencies work on feet, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, neck and/or back?

Neat tube JJ... like the magnet holding swing top lid.

I have a hammer

and a sterling silver fork

on a wooden board to ease the emptiness in my stomach... unfortunately it does nothing for my intestinal tubes and the midriff .

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Never heard of that! Elaborate, please!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Nice storage box Jim, very unique with the swivel lid. That's thinking outside the box.
Also on team-heverheardofit. Fine box! Design efforts are tops as always!

I'm old enough to remember docs using those to test hearing.
Very nicely done!  Please tell us if it works!!!

In Aussie land this is how they heal Peyronie's Disease!

Is there anything that Vegemite can't fix!

I see it also can be used as a pore filler for gouges in a table top (may need to be thinned a bit for less hammering efforts).
my wife has bad arthritis in her hands so im interested myself.

Nice box Jim J. Hope it eases your pain. When I sand free hand to much I get pain in my index finger joints. Reminds me of a song You’re Giving Me Good Vibrations.

Moke that’s funny. But bad vibrations and imagery. Ouch!

Thank you all for the nice comments. So far it is helping me especially in my right hand. I do it constantly when I watch a movie at home. I have noticed that if I direct the vibration to the inside of the joint my my index finger, it is really noticeable improvement!.

JEMI, next time you sand, try holding that index finger on top of the sander rather than under it.  Reminds me of a song I'm about to write... no title yet but "Let's ease the pain".

you could also get some anti vibration gloves made for sanding.

Nice. I'm glad it's helping.

Hi Alex, will that song be played with the index finger on top of the guitar, too?

Hi Pottzy, I have never heard of anti vibrations gloves. I can't  work with gloves on except when handling dirty parts or material with sharp edges or slivers. I use my hands for feedback as to how I'm doing like with sanding!!

Thanks, Jeffski !!!
