Christmas Gift

This Keepsake Box was made as a Christmas present for our youngest daughter’s number 3, so couldn’t be shown until after it was given at Christmas.

The beautiful sapele timber came from offcuts bin at Living Timbers in Penrith [now closed].

Thank you for the generous support of local woodworkers of Dean & Frances who will be sadly missed from the community; so a final THANK YOU to them.

I also want to honour my woodworking friend "Uncle Alan" who passed earlier this year as he had made the first & second Keepsake Boxes for me and encouraged me to have a go at the third.

The finger joints were done on a secondhand Hegner Jointing Jig I scored from the forum market place.

The finish is Osmo Clear Satin, the first time I've used it.

Our daughter was very pleased with the box but gave me the heads up, another one will be needed next year.

I hope everyone has had a safe and very Merry Christmas not forgetting the Reason for the Season.

And may everyone have a TOP 2026 with lots of toys making.

 Cheers Peter.

Great looking box Crowie, all the finger joints are nice and tight.
Nice build, Peter!

May you have the day you deserve!

Nicely done.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Agree with all the above,  well done.   Toys are a great reason to have projects!
