My personal best...

Of all the commissions I have ever taken on, this particular project was probably the most challenging and is my favourite of the pieces I’ve made.
Shop made American black walnut veneer with walnut burr inlay and sapwood stringing for the top. The pedestals were turned on my father in law’s lathe, the first bit of turning I’d done since woodwork class circa 1986.
Fortunate to have a client who just said “I’ve bought an old house and I don’t want to fill it with modern furniture”, so this is what I designed and made for him. Did the unit in the background too.

That is impressive.

Great Job!

Good Luck with your new job!

Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.

Thanks Bently, that really made me laugh.

Very nice piece! Pardon me while I wipe my drool as I stare! Great project!

Doing the best with what you got? Brother, that’s woodworking. I like the table. The top has a soft, warm glow only walnut has. Good work!

That’s a real beauty all right ,fantastic work.
