JAPANESE STYLE INSPIRED JEWLERY BOX

This box is a design follow up from the previous box I posted .
The first lid I had designed did not work with the previous box so I decided to make this box which is hard maple and sepele with walnut for the feet .I designed new wing details and replaced the original ones which gave the box design a more airy feel .The carved texture was done with a small router and a carbide burr .
The size is 13” W X 9” D X 5 1/2” H which is ample for multiple uses like a watch box /pen box /jewelry box and the lid and drawer combination allow for very easy access .
The drawer handles are a simple design but the use of the metal ferrules give them that special touch which I always strive for on my boxes . The interior bottoms are lined with velvet cloth sewn to cardstock backing . The finish is BLO and hot wax and polished
The lid is hinged with SOSS hinges and I would be glad to answer any questions that you may have and comments are always welcome .

Amazing box, the details are great!

I always love your boxes Klaus. There seems to be no end to your creativity and imagination.
This one is particularly nice.

The early bird gets the worm but its the second mouse that gets the cheese.

Great work. Love the detail.
