Prototype #2 in ekki. I haven’t tried it yet. I guess I’ll have to go buy some beer. Ekki is very hard and should stand up to the bottle caps without denting or otherwise deforming. The mouth is very silly.
After making the mouth (with a handsaw and bastard file) I figured out a way to it on the table saw. Next one will be better.

Since I figured out how to do it on the table saw, I figured I’d just go ahead and do it. Now it’s less silly.

That’s a beauty Brian, hope it works.(I’m betting on you.). Another great thing, that is a very good reason to go buy some beer. Good luck.

I’ll have to test it tomorrow. I’m just too tired and I have to get up early tomorrow. But yeah, it’s definitely a good excuse to get some beer. :-)
By the way, this can be left outside all year round. Ekki is naturally waterproof.

Tested and proven functional. :-)
Seems to be just the right balance of wood-to-gap. Feels very sturdy and removes the cap easily.

Small update. After all this time, it finally got delivered to my friend. My 4 year old kept losing it right before every time we had a visit. LOL I guess its too tempting as a toy.
