While out on a family walk, we found an old swing that a neighbor was getting rid of. We brought it home, sanded, stained, finished, replaced some bolts, and bought chain to hang it. Now we have an excellent spot in the shade to sit in our back yard.

The whole project was less than $50 for a good quality swing and was fun to do with everyone in the family other than the newborn doing at least some work on it (lots of sanding help from my daughters).

What a great rescue! Your girls will appreciate getting to relax in the swing after all their hard work. It’s nice to see families working together to accomplish such a nice result. Enjoy!

there was a show where guys would pick up someone’s throw-aways, turn it into something unique, not necessarily just fixing it up, and then knock on their door, leave the new item on their doorstep and run and hide. .. and video their reaction and realization that it was their “trash”.
