These breadboards are great quick holiday presents. Each board is approximately 19 × 5″ and 3/4 thick. I generally use some scraps around the shop although 19 inches doesn’t really qualify as a scrap to me! The best part is coming up with wood combinations that look good together and making each one different. Once the blanks are glued up and sanded, I use a template to draw the handle on it and I take them to the band saw and just set my fence to cut to the lines. A quick sand and a rounding over with a hand held router finishes them. Then it’s time for the hole for the string to hang them. I then use 2 coats of a beeswax/mineral oil finish. They are done! Everyone seems to like them… I’ve sold out twice and try to keep some in stock for shows.
The ones here are 2 designs I used. The first 3 pics have more rounded edges on the handle and the second 2 pics are squared off. I really prefer the latter as it just looks nicer!
