A brief Introduction
Very brief as I still have my left hand in a brace, following an argument with a retaining wall. I’ve been a woodworker for most of my life, a collector of things old (books, tools, pottery, you name it) and perforce, a seller because that’s the only way I have to buy more stuff.
I’m a retired research librarian and a bunch of other things. My passions are fishing, but only with Garcia Conolon rods and Mitchell reels, woodworking, old books and old ephemera. In retirement I transitioned from working wood to working books, as an independent publisher of The Toolemera Press line of books. I try to keep my hand in with wood by restoring old stuff, which was always my ‘thing’ even when I was cutting wood for a living.

Don’t be surprised if we’re friendly and ask questions about you work. I work onnce a week at a charity that sends refurbished tools to African craftsmen, (for those that might balk, they don’t get them free, money is exchanged and the tools, which would otherwise get sent to the dump, are used for a long time by people that love them, there is nothing like “Home Depot” in Tanzania).
I’d love to see your work and learn what you know.

Welcome Gary, it sounds like you have a nice set of hobbies. Maybe you can share some of your fishing tips, I find fishing a lot more difficult than woodworking.
