Toolbox #1: Too Impatient

I forgot to put my cuts in the drawer foundation assemblies for vertical strength and drawer division. I’ll do that with a Zonas saw and a chisel. I need to strengthen all that up. A friend told me to leave the tenons in these assemblies unglued. I did.

I get in a hurry and I can’t finish this toolbox fast enough but then I make mistakes. I’ll slow down because now I have to attend to all the detail work. I want rails for a tray maybe in the bottom. And, I’m going to make cherry-fronted drawers with half-blind dovetails. That will slow me down.

And, I haven’t decided if the front top piece is going to flip up or flip down.

Any suggestions with reasons are greatly appreciated. This toolbox is an evolution without plans.

Kelly that is awesome. In sending that to a friend.

David I feel your pain. I’m working a money losing job at the moment and of course rushing everything to stem the losses and of course all that rushing leads to many do-overs. It sucks…

I have a sign in my shop, which says: “Why is there never enough time to do it right, but always enough time to do it over?”

Wish I had the time to look at it……….
