There is little I can say about this one show pony other than what it was designed for... edge banding. I'm sure there's gotta be someone out there that hasn't come across these little unicorns, offered by Bessey and are hidden in the dark corners of clamps that most woodies don't venture down. There is a double spindle version, however, I don't own any and I wasn't going to buy some just for a write up... sorry.
They can be attached to any bar clamps that sports a 13mm or less thick bar. They can be mounted singularly, or in a series, depending on your requirement. The series mounting is governed by the length of your clamp vs the job.
Their effectiveness is governed by the holding power/friction of the host clamp on smooth flat surfaces, as the greater pressure applied to the edge clamp, the more prone the host clamp is to slippage. The clamping surface may need to be packed out to accommodate the reach of the clamp and the dimensions of the "banding".
If your clamp has reach, multi mounts could be the easiest option,
however, the applicable pressure is determined by the host clamp being used.
While there are other options out there that I don't know about, one of this add-on's major feature is it's versatility across the various clamp brand. The thickness of the banding is basically governed by the reach of the host clamp's "tip", as the end extends a minimum of Xmm (18mm) fully retracted, with an average of 22mm on the majority of clamps. You do the maths and hope you have all 10 fingers.
Could see that as a way to cut the number of clamps used in a panel glue-up
Could avoid the extras hired on for the caul clamping, but these might be a bit too weak for the task, However.... When clamping frame corners, there is a use for cauls on the corners for which these might just be ideal.
Anything to reduce the clamp parts density also would be a plus
I'd rather have attachments versus buying dedicated 3-way gizmos
