TIMBERSTONE

This is a little design experiment by using a different material into a box design.
I made a counter top for my daughters bathroom a while ago and had this big chunk of textured laminate sitting in the shop and wondered what I could use it for and this is the result .
The construction of this box is the same as the last few boxes I have posted but with increased hight as it is going to be used in the bathroom as counter storage .
I used 3/8” Baltic birch as a substrate and covered the sheet on both sides with laminate and pressed it over night to make sure it was nice and flat .
The trim is Peruvian walnut and for the drawers are maple .
An easy box to make and finish .

Very nice Klaus.

What glue did you use?

This turned out really nice Klaus and the textured (terrazzo?) counter top worked very well with this design.

Thanks guys
I used contact cement and the laminate looks like Travertine with just a nice light texture to the surface not filled and polished .
