Me and my Shadow

I love both painting and woodworking. It's always a challenge to create a background that makes the leaf carving pop. Yearly, i contribute a "Work of Heart" for the Memphis Child Advocacy Center's annual art auction. I learned a lot about the arbortech tool for carving. I love to make the wood look like it is so pliable that it can bend. I always carve the stem at the last minute, so i won't break it as i work on the leaf. 

I'm hoping it sells well. The dimensions are 15 x 30 inches.
